Cutting

Empty Space offers lathe-cut dubplates made on durable 180 g vinyl. Cuts are produced using professional-grade equipment, including a feedback cutterhead, a high-torque direct-drive motor, and a low-distortion stereo cutting amplifier. The material is optimized for performance and offers longevity comparable to pressed records.

All recordings are prepared specifically for the physical properties of vinyl and cut by Formen in his analogue studio, using a combination of rare vintage tools and modern equipment. To ensure clean highs, solid bass, and stable loudness, cuts are limited to 15 minutes per side.

Each dubplate is supplied with a polylined inner sleeve. Unprinted white labels or self-adhesive printable labels are available. Various cardboard outer sleeves can be provided on request.

Process

Orders normally range from one to twenty copies. Please send a request including track layout, runtime per side, quantity, and shipping address. We typically respond within three business days. Small batches are usually completed within one week.

Audio can be submitted in digital or analogue formats. We accept common digital formats, cassette, reel-to-reel, or vinyl transfers. Already mastered material is carefully adjusted specifically for vinyl; unmastered material can be prepared in-house using analogue processing.

Once confirmed, your dubplates are cut, invoiced, and shipped worldwide from Switzerland.

Conditions

Pricing is based on total audio length per record:

Up to 15 minutes total audio: 40 CHF
15–20 minutes total audio: 50 CHF
20–25 minutes total audio: 60 CHF
25–30 minutes total audio: 70 CHF

Returning clients receive a 10% discount. Orders of 10–20 copies are eligible for a 5% discount. Larger quantities are possible but must be arranged in advance.

Barter or trade is possible in individual cases.
